BoE Elects President & Vice President for 2026-27

At the July 6, 2026 Reorganization meeting of the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education, Alissa Dorfman was elected Board President, and Allison Steinbauer was elected Vice President.

Alissa Dorfman served as Board Vice President last year and was the Chair of the Board’s Wellness Committee and Communications Committee. Mrs. Dorfman was also a member of the Audit Committee, Facilities Committee, Health & Safety Committee, and Policy Committee as well as liaison to the Horace Greeley Scholarship Fund. She joined the Board in 2024 and was previously involved in the PTA at Roaring Brook Elementary School and Bell Middle School.

“I would like to thank the Board for putting its trust in me,” Dorfman said during her first President’s Report. “I am really looking forward to working together as a group, having all of our voices heard, and having a productive and wonderful year ahead.”

Last year, Allison Steinbauer was a member of the Board's Audit, Communications, Health & Safety, Policy, and Wellness committees, and was liaison to the Chappaqua School Foundation/Innovation Committee. Prior to beginning her term in 2025, Mrs. Steinbauer was actively involved in the Roaring Brook PTA, heading various committees and serving as Vice-Chair and then Chair. She also served as a community member on the Board's Communications Committee.

“I’m honored to serve as Vice President,” Steinbauer said. “Thank you to my fellow board members for your confidence. I’m looking forward to a year of thoughtful collaboration and keeping students at the center of our work.”

Also at this meeting, Brittany Comstock was appointed District Clerk, Superintendent Dr. Christine Ackerman reaffirmed her oath of office, and it was announced that Board committee assignments will be determined at a later date prior to the start of the 2026-27 school year.
