Policy 2045: Duties of the Counsel

It shall be the duty of the counsel, who shall be an attorney at law, to advise the Board on specific legal problems submitted to him/her and to make such recommendations as s/he feels desirable.

  1. Counsel shall attend, on request, any regular or special meeting of the Board.
  2. In the event that any litigation shall arise involving the District or the Board, where the necessity for counsel shall arise, the Board may, by formal and separate resolutions, authorize counsel to represent the Board in such matters, and to retain trial counsel in matters of a highly specialized nature where the Board feels that the necessity therefore exists.
