A message from the Superintendent

Superintendent's Update #4

November 22, 2022

Dear CCSD Parents and Staff,

I hope this email finds you well as we begin preparations for the holiday season. I would like to take an opportunity to share our COVID procedures with you should a member of the CCSD staff or student body test positive or develop COVID symptoms over the holiday break.

Please take note of the following procedures for all CCSD staff and students:

CCSD Students & Staff Who Test Positive for COVID-19

  • Parents must notify the building principal and school nurse, in writing, if their child tested positive for COVID-19 (the nurses will respond to emails on Monday 11/28/22). Students who are positive for COVID-19 are not permitted to attend school on days 1-5 of isolation.
  • Students who are COVID-19 positive will be permitted to access remote instruction via zoom while in isolation.
  • Students will be cleared to return to school through our attestation process, which can be accessed here.
  • After a positive COVID-19 test, students who are cleared to return to school must wear a mask while inside on days 6-10. These students will sit six feet from peers at lunch, inside, unless they test out of masking.
  • CCSD athletes must receive medical clearance before returning to sports if they are diagnosed with COVID-19 after their annual physical exam.

Mask Flexibility
With two negative tests 48 hours apart, people may remove their masks sooner than day 10. These results will be sent directly to the school nurse for verification. The first day a person may begin the test out process is day 6.

CCSD Students & Staff Who Have COVID-19 Symptoms
Symptomatic individuals will need to report two negative antigen test results (8 hours apart) on the CCSD’s Antigen Test Reporting System, or one lab certified negative test result for COVID-19, or medical clearance prior to returning to school.

I hope you are looking forward to a restful break with your families. We have COVID-19 antigen tests available throughout the District at the security stations for your use.

As always, thank you for your support and understanding.

Sincerely,

Christine Ackerman
Superintendent of Schools
