Athletic Director's Update #2

August 11, 2020

Dear Students, Parents, and Coaches,

I hope this email finds you healthy and taking time to stay physically active while adhering to social distancing guidelines. I wanted to provide you with some information regarding the opportunity for students to pick up Athletic Awards from last year, the current status of the Fall 2020 Season, and clarity around our facility use plans for the start of the school year.

Athletic Awards Pickup
Students will be able to pick up their Senior-Athlete Framed Varsity Letters, Senior-Athlete Awards, and All-League and All-Section Plaques on the following dates:

  • Monday, August 17th - 8:00am to 12:00pm
  • Wednesday, August 19th - 8:00am to 12:00pm

Awards will be available in front of the Athletic Center’s Main Entrance. Masks are required for all individuals picking up awards.

Fall 2020 Athletics
At this time, no further information or guidance has been provided regarding the Fall 2020 Season. The Fall Season is still scheduled to start on September 21st. As more information becomes available, we will be sure to communicate it with you.

Athletic Facilities Use
The District’s allocation of playing fields and indoor basketball courts will maintain a focus on the safety of our students and school community. We will continue to align our facility use with the Governor's guidelines that have been provided to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association. The District's fields and indoor athletic spaces will remain closed for any school team related activities or outside group use until the current restrictions have been lifted.
