1.      Call the Meeting to Order at 2:00 pm 

President Tipp called for a motion to convene the public meeting.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to convene the public meeting at 2:02 pm.  Seconded by Hilary Grasso.  Motion carried 5-0.

2.      Proposed Executive Session, subject to Board approval, to discuss litigation and matters of health & safety.

Motioned by Warren Messner to adjourn into Executive Session to discuss litigation and matters of health & safety at 2:03 pm.  Seconded by Holly McCall.  Motion carried 5-0.

3.      Reconvene Special Public Meeting.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to reconvene the public meeting.  Seconded by Holly McCall.  Motion carried 5-0.

Dr. Ackerman recommended Item 4 as stated below.

4.      Instructional:

Appointments: Probationary
Ms. Melissa Fulton, Teacher of Elementary, Roaring Brook Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Elementary Teacher effective September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2024, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 7, (BA+ 30) with Masters, $89,888.

Ms. Trisha Harrypersad, School Psychologist, Westorchard Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of School Psychologist effective September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2024, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 3a, (BA+ 60) with Masters, $86,788.

Ms. Naicy Pretill, Teacher of Foreign Language, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Foreign Language effective September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2024, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 5, (BA+ 45) with Masters, $87,728.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to approve Item 4 as stated above.  Seconded by Holly McCall.  Motion carried 5-0.

5.    Recommended Action:  Other
Use of the Consent Agenda permits the Board of Education to make more effective use of its time by adopting a single motion to cover those relatively routine matters, which are included. Any member of the Board who wishes to discuss individually a particular piece of business on the Consent Agenda may so indicate and that item will be considered and voted on separately, thus preserving the right of all Board members to be heard on any issue. It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the following Consent agenda as submitted by the Superintendent of Schools.

5.1    BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board hereby authorizes Director of Facilities Joseph Gramando to perform the services of Construction Manager for the on-going construction projects at Horace Greeley High School. and the Chappaqua Library. Such services shall be performed during his regular hours of work and such other pre-approved hours as may be authorized by the Superintendent of Schools for hours worked beyond his workday, paid at his regular hourly rate of pay.

5.2    BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby accepts the proposal, dated July 20, 2020, from KG+D Architects, PC, as presented to the Board at this meeting, to provide additional services in the nature of construction administration to oversee the completion of the capital projects at Horace Greeley High School and the Chappaqua Public Library, at compensation of $2,500 per week commencing on July 27, 2020 through and including April 1, 2021 for a total of $65,000.00 and authorizes the Board President to sign the proposal letter on behalf of the District.  A copy of the proposal letter is incorporated by reference within the minutes of this meeting.

5.3    BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby appoints an independent investigator to be hereinafter designated to investigate Title VI, Title VII and/or Title IX matters, including findings of fact and recommendations, if any, to the Board.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to approve Items 5.1 through 5.3 as stated above.  Seconded by Hilary Grasso.  Motion carried 5-0.
