NWEA Parent Meeting

NWEA Parent Meeting. December 16, 2019

Dear Parents of 3rd-8th Graders,

At this time, most of our students in grades 3-8 have taken the NWEA MAPs Growth screener in both ELA and Math. This screener is given to provide information about how your child is progressing academically. Thanks to the efforts of our students, teachers, and administrators, our first administration of this screener was a success.

We are in the process of exploring how the results may inform our work with students. Following the second administration (mid-winter), you will receive a summary of how your child is performing academically.

We will be hosting an NWEA-MAPs parent presentation on December 16th at 7:00 pm at Seven Bridges Middle School.

At this event, parents will learn about the NWEA MAPs screener, the information it provides, and how we will use this information to measure progress and guide instruction. Please see the Event Flyer below and RSVP by December 13th.

We are excited to partner with our school community to unlock the potential of this powerful tool.

For more information about this initiative, please see this excerpt from our October District Newsletter, and visit the MAP Growth website at NWEA.org/familytoolkit.

Sincerely,

Dr. Adam Pease
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
