1        Approvals & Ratifications 

1.1    Policy and Regulation #7000:  Community Use of School District Facilities – 2nd Reading and adoption

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby adopts Policy and Regulation #7000:  Community Use of School District Facilities

2.      Facilities

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education acknowledges Change Orders approved by the Superintendent per Board Resolution adopted at June 14, 2017 Board of Education meeting

2.1    Change order #EC-005-SB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Seven Bridges Middle School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  All Bright Electric
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to providing a revised soffit in Fabrication Shop 043, Fabrication Lab 048 and Applications Lab 042 to conceal diagonal steel bracing required for additional light fixtures.
Amount:  $8,147.63

2.2    Change order #PC-006-RB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Robert E. Bell Middle School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  S&L Plumbing and Heating Corp.
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to providing a Bradley LVLD3 lav system in lieu of the specified model.
Amount:  $6,069.96

2.3    Change order #PC-007-RB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Robert E. Bell Middle School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  S&L Plumbing and Heating Corp.
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to providing shut-off valves at Toilet Rooms 217 & 318B, as addressed via RFI #24
Amount:  $1,871.23

2.4    Change order #PC-008-RB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Robert E. Bell Middle School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  S&L Plumbing and Heating Corp.
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to upcharges for providing mixing valves as addressed via RFI #9 and a wall hung sink as addressed via RFI #15.
Amount:  $9,382.08

2.5    Change order #PC-009-RB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Robert E. Bell Middle School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  S&L Plumbing and Heating Corp.
Description:  Premium-time labor upcharges related to roughing out classroom sinks above the Principal’s Office during off-hours.
Amount:  $605.25

2.6    Change order #GC-021-RB approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Roaring Brook Elementary School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  MVM Construction, LLC
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to the following:

  • Additional sheetrock for HVAC chases per Bulletin GC-1 and Sketch ASK-1
  • Additional ceiling grid and tiles along with required soffits taped and painted
  • Deleting Armstrong Serpentine Clouds
  • Reframing clear story area and installing insulation above ceiling
  • Removing trim & repainting cabinet in Maker Space
  • Repatching penetrations for AV work
  • Additional wall at librarian work space adjacent to wall constructed for sink plumbing
  • Clean debris from other prime trades
  • Stain & install maple trim in Maker Space
  • Additional painting of doors and window frames
  • Moldings at base of columns

Amount:  $27,132.81

2.7    Change order #GC-022-DG approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Douglas Grafflin Elementary School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  MVM Construction, LLC
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to the following:

  • Additional ceiling grid and tiles along with required soffits, taped and painted
  • Deleting Armstrong Serpentine Clouds
  • Removing and replacing framing around Door 1F including patching and repainting wall
  • Removing and replacing framing around Door 1A including patching and repainting wall
  • Repatching penetrations for AV work
  • Cleaning debris from other prime trades
  • Removing and rebuilding soffit at Maker Space
  • Providing Panic Bars in the GLC; removing & replacing exterior glass in Maker Space

Amount:  $36,234.46

2.8    Change order #GC-023-WO approved by the Superintendent:
Project:  Westorchard Elementary School Capital Improvements
Contractor:  MVM Construction, LLC
Description:  Funds for all labor, equipment and materials related to:

  • Excavating outside of rescue window and constructing block retaining wall
  • Patch wall at Office 3 where mechanical contractor penetrated
  • Repatching penetrations for AV work
  • Cleaning debris of other prime trades
  • Removing door headers at Doors 5A & 5C, adjusting heights to match, and reinstalling
  • Providing sheetrock along north wall of the GLC and Maker Space
  • Painting of additional frames, windows, doors and brickwork

Amount:  $17,053.90
