1.

Recommended Action:

President Visser announced that PNWBOCES had notified all the component school districts of a vacancy on their board due to the August resignation of a board member. All nominations must be made by component school districts by resolution and received in writing by the Clerk of PNWBOCES no later than midnight on Tuesday, October 7. Since the next CCSD school board meeting is October 8, we would miss the deadline if someone should consider running to complete the term ending June 30, 2015 and so this special meeting has been called. Upon further discussion and consideration, Jeffrey Mester, already a member of the BOCES advisory committee and actively working on various issues with them, was deemed to be the best candidate.

Warren Messner offered the following resolution,

"On behalf of the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education, I nominate Jeffrey Mester to fill one vacancy on the Putnam Northern Westchester Board of Cooperative Education Services (P/NWBOCES) Board to serve the remainder of a three-year term expiring on June 30, 2015."

Alyson Gardner moved to second the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Mr. Mester accepted the nomination. He expressed the belief that it is better to work together to provide solutions rather than continue to be a source of constant complaint.

2.

President Visser gave Notice of Future Meetings

At 7:35 a.m. Karen Visser moved to adjourn to Executive session to discuss a legal settlement. Victoria Tipp seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

At 8:12 a.m. Victoria Tipp moved to adjourn the Executive session and reconvene the public session to adjourn the public meeting. Warren Messner seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Theresa Markley, District Clerk / Administrative Asst. to Superintendent

Karen Visser, Board President
