2010-11 School District Election Results:

We are pleased to report the following results from Tuesday's School District Election. Thank you for your continuing support of public education in Chappaqua.

School Budget Resolution

The 2010-11 School District budget of $109,341,348 was approved.

Total number of yes votes 1050; no votes 756.

Election of Two Board of Education Members

Jeffrey Mester was elected to serve a second three-year term. Randall Katchis was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Education.

Library Budget Resolution

The 2010-11 budget of $2,715,799 for the Chappaqua Library was approved.

Total number of yes votes 1200; no notes 587.

Election of Library Board Member

Eleanor M. Friedman was elected to serve a five-year term.

Board of Education meeting, Tuesday, May 25:

The Board of Education meeting on May 25 will begin with the recognition of teachers, teaching assistants, and administrators receiving tenure this year. There will be a reception at 7:45 p.m. followed by the board of education meeting at 8:15 pm.

Superintendent David Fleishman will present information to the Board of Education regarding restructuring possibilities, which could result in future cost savings for the district. He will present several possible structural changes including reconfiguring the grades housed in the middle schools. Following this presentation, the Board of Education will listen to public comment on the Superintendent search process.
