Celebrating Boys Swimming Championship & Winter Sports Update

Congratulations to the Greeley Boys Swimming & Diving team, the New York State Champions! The team won their second consecutive New York State Public High School Athletic Association and Federation title this month in Ithaca. The competition included more than 80 schools and 400 athletes from across the state. 

All ten Greeley swimmers were awarded medals in this competition. In addition, the team claimed the 400 meter freestyle relay state championship and set a new, school, sectional, and NYSPHSAA record. Congrats to Hudson Chung, Jack Cornish, Eric Engel, Oliver Engel, Lawrence Gulotta, Jamie Lynch, Connor McHugh, Jack Moran, Erik Nadecki, Trey Schlomann.

Coaches Meg Kaplan and Jeanne Kellachan are extremely proud of the way the team performed throughout the season and their dominating performance in the postseason.    

The ten state qualifiers were celebrated at a Breakfast of Champions at Greeley and were honored at the March 22nd Board of Education meeting. 

Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Health, Jamie Block, congratulated the team, sharing, “I am excited not only about the accomplishments of this team but how they represent the Chappaqua Community as wonderful ambassadors. There is a very strong tradition of swimming and diving here and these student-athletes are keeping it going.”
