Assistant Principal, Seven Bridges Middle School

On July 7, the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education named Ms. Jessica Rappaport Assistant Principal at Seven Bridges Middle School, beginning July 15, 2021.

A broadcast journalism producer (CNN International) turned high school administrator, Ms. Rappaport began her education career in 2006 teaching English at the IN-Tech Academy in the Bronx, where she designed and implemented 90-minute literacy blocks to aid struggling readers/writers, introduced and taught the school’s first-ever AP English Literature course and instituted a data-driven instructional model for the 8th-grade team. In 2010, she began teaching 11th- and 12th-grade English in the White Plains City School District before becoming a House Administrator in 2016. House Administrators are responsible for the discipline, attendance, and student support service coordination for one-quarter of the building. Additionally, House Administrators take on additional duties to help run the day-to-day operations of the school.

A close colleague of Ms. Rappaport described her as a passionate educator and strong advocate for kids, one who works to harbor a warm and supportive environment for all students. She is adept at supporting both students and staff and is a reflective practitioner who embraces professional collaboration and nurtures positive relationships with all members of the community.

Ms. Rappaport received her bachelor’s degree in English from Binghamton University, a master’s degree in Journalism from New York University, and a second master’s degree in Secondary English Education from Lehman College. She also holds a School Building Leader Certificate along with a certificate in NYS Secondary School-English. We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to Seven Bridges Middle School!
