CCSD CommUNITY Day

Dear Chappaqua Central School District Families,

On behalf of the Chappaqua Central School District, and the students of the BSU, we would like to invite our families to participate in our CommUNITY Day celebration scheduled for Monday, June 6th. CommUNITY Day will be an evening for all families to participate in engaging learning experiences to raise awareness about the District’s strategic goal of Cultivating Equitable, Affirming, and Culturally Responsive Learning Environments.

The BSU hosts Unity Day annually to create space to discuss and honor the multiple identities our students bring to their classrooms each day and to foster a greater sense of belonging within our school community. These student-facilitated conversations challenge our school community to imagine the ways in which they can be agents of change in the world.

The evening will begin at 5:30 pm with an opening keynote address by NYT best-selling author, Dr. Chris Emdin, followed by a series of facilitated conversations led by students, faculty and members of our community. The event will conclude at 8:00 pm.

We hope that you will join us to celebrate the amazing work of our student leadership and to mark the evolution of our equity work across the District. You can review the evening agenda here. If you plan to attend, please click here to register for sessions. Please be aware that during the learning sessions at 7:15 pm, there will be an optional activity in the Greeley Gym for children in Grades K-4.
