Community Use of CCSD Facilities
May 3, 2021
Dear Chappaqua Central School District Community,
I am writing to inform the community that the tennis courts at Horace Greeley High School are closed to the public until further notice.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCSD has followed all applicable federal, state and local guidelines, and has instituted and publicized additional Covid procedures that apply to all individuals on CCSD property. We understand the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated their guidelines, which allow for fully vaccinated people to forego wearing a mask in public except for certain public settings and venues. Please note, that CCSD will continue to follow NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) and Westchester County Department of Health (WCDOH) guidelines and wishes to reiterate that masks are required on all CCSD properties and recreational facilities (exceptions to mask wearing will be made for children under two and those who are unable to medically tolerate wearing a mask as verified by CCSD in advance of entering our property). As soon as the NYSDOH or the WCDOH makes an adjustment to their guidance, we will notify the community.
The unfortunate decision to close the Greeley tennis courts was made due to repeated concerns over non-compliance with CCSD Covid procedures, and the subsequent interactions with our staff attempting to address non-compliant individuals.
Thank you for your understanding, and we will send out a notification as soon as we are able to open our courts to the public again.
