CCSD Mask Expectations
May 19, 2021
Dear Chappaqua School Community,
On May 17, 2021, Governor Cuomo announced that New York adopted the CDC's "Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People" for most businesses and public settings. He went further to share that K-12 schools will continue to follow the State's existing COVID-19 health guidelines until more New Yorkers are fully vaccinated. The full press release can be found here.
After consultation with our Medical Director, the Chappaqua Central School District has implemented the following mask protocols and practices moving forward:
K-12 Chappaqua Central School District Students - Mask Expectations: All K-12 students must wear a mask on campus at all times, regardless of vaccination status.
Chappaqua Central School District Staff - Mask Expectations: All school district employees will wear a mask on campus at all times, regardless of vaccination status, while working with our students and interacting with each other.
Chappaqua Central School District Community Members & Visitors - Mask Expectations
- All adults who are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear a mask outdoors, but must wear a mask inside our facilities (CCSD reserves the right to ask for proof of vaccination status).
- All adults who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear a mask both outdoors and inside our facilities.
- All children must wear a mask at all times regardless of vaccination status (ex. children two years old or above, K-12 visiting student athletes/spectators).
**Please note that different mask requirements may apply for fully vaccinated adults based on NYSDOH requirements for specific events.**
The District has also reopened the HGHS tennis courts and we look forward to seeing you outside on our campus supporting our students.
Thank you for your patience these past few weeks as we waited for this new guidance.
Sincerely,
Christine Ackerman, PhD
Superintendent of Schools
