A message from the Superintendent
Superintendent's Update #6 - Vaccinated Students
August 24, 2021
Dear Chappaqua Central School District Families of Vaccine Eligible Students,
At 9am this morning, you will receive an email with directions to upload your child’s CDC Vaccination Card to Operoo. This request was previewed as a part of our August 18th parent opening presentation. Of course, uploading your child’s vaccination status is voluntary. However, we hope that you will consider uploading your child’s vaccination status to our secure server for the following reasons:
- Your obligation to complete the daily Operoo screener will be discontinued until further notice.
- If your child is exposed to COVID-19, CCSD will indicate to the WCDOH that your child is vaccinated, and your child will likely not need to be quarantined. If you do not share your card with us before school opens, and your child is exposed to COVID-19, they will be listed as unvaccinated. In that case, you will need to handle the quarantine release directly with your local department of health.
- Sharing this information allows the District to monitor our vaccination numbers.
- Finally, and most importantly, this information may help us if we are faced with closure decisions for Greeley and Grades 7 & 8.
If you do not receive an email from Operoo this morning, please contact operoo@chappaquaschools.org for assistance. As always, I appreciate your consideration and continued support. We look forward to welcoming all of our students back to school next week.
Sincerely,
Christine Ackerman, PhD
Superintendent of Schools
