Superintendent’s Update #36

March 3, 2022

Dear Chappaqua Central School District Families,

I hope this email finds you well. I thought it would be helpful to provide additional clarification regarding a few procedures, now that masks are optional inside, our COVID positive cases are down and our vaccination rates throughout the District have increased.

Home Test Availability for CCSD Students/Staff & Required Weekly Testing
We will continue to offer home test kits to families and staff. You may pick up kits at the entrance of our buildings during regular school hours.

Unvaccinated staff and unvaccinated CCSD student-athletes will continue to test weekly using our home testing program. You may find information on our home test program here.

Adjustments to Screening Process for Students, Staff and Guests
We will no longer screen temperatures as individuals enter our buses and/or buildings. We will no longer have our guests fill out COVID related documentation when they arrive on campus.

Please be advised that parents of unvaccinated students and unvaccinated staff must continue to fill out the Operoo screener each morning.

Procedures for Symptomatic Students/Staff
All students and staff who have COVID symptoms must test for COVID before returning to school. Vaccinated individuals may use two of our home tests to meet this requirement. Unvaccinated individuals must receive a negative result from a certified lab or medical facility to return to school. More information on the return to school procedure for symptomatic individuals can be found here.

As stated in Superintendent's Update #35, over the next few days we will review our lunch procedures and classroom protocols based on recently provided guidance. I will present any potential adjustments to our Continuity of Learning Plan, which outlines our COVID procedures, at the March 15th Board of Education meeting.

Sincerely,

Christine Ackerman, PhD
Superintendent of Schools
