Early Pick-Up Procedures

Please check in at the Security Booth at the main entrance, and your child will be brought to you.

Late Arrival: 

• Grafflin: Please bring your child directly to the annex building. Walk your child to the front door and wait for a staff member to greet you and escort your child into the building.
• Roaring Brook/Westorchard: Please check in at the Security Booth at the main entrance. A staff member will greet your child and escort them to their classroom.

Students will be assigned randomly to classes, with consideration given to maintaining gender balance and CPSE designated services. We do not accommodate parent requests for specific placements.

Pre-K classroom assignments will be communicated by Healthy Kids on or about August 24, 2026.

All guests visiting school buildings during the school day must receive prior approval from the building principal and adhere to the guest speaker guidelines established for our K–4 students.

Students will have access to the gymnasium, hydroponics labs, library, art classroom, cafeteria, and playgrounds under the supervision of the Pre-K faculty. 
 

Students will eat lunch in their classrooms. Parents are responsible for providing their child's lunch and snacks each day. Please note that refrigeration/microwaves will not be available.

Families who qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Program may receive school meals once the required application has been completed. After the necessary documentation has been submitted to the district registrar, arrangements will be made for the child to receive lunch.

Parents and guardians must provide transportation to and from the Pre-K program. Parents will communicate directly with the teacher when a non-custodial caretaker is picking up their child at dismissal. 

School nurses will be available to assess students who do not feel well and determine whether they should be sent home. A Pre-K staff member will remain with the child while they are being evaluated by the nurse. School nurses will also distribute medicine to students following all of our required procedures.

Each school building has a school psychologist available to support faculty, staff, and families as needed.

Parents who have concerns regarding student progress, classroom dynamics or student behavior should first reach out to the Pre-K classroom teacher.  If the concern is not resolved, parents should contact the Director of Pre-K & Elementary Education, Karen Scarth, who will communicate directly with Healthy Kids to address the concerns. Building principals will refer all correspondence regarding behavior-related concerns to Healthy Kids or the Director of Pre-K & Elementary Education for follow-up and intervention.

Pre-K faculty will provide families with a weekly update highlighting classroom activities, learning experiences, and important information.

Pre-K faculty and students will participate in all school safety drills and follow the building’s heat alleviation plan.
