Assessment & Data

The Chappaqua Central School District is committed to using data to inform decisions and to track the impact of these decisions over time.  We carefully track student progress, program efficacy, curriculum strength, and the impact of events such as the COVID pandemic on student performance.

We are committed to having a "healthy relationship" with data as we ensure that it enhances our "whole-child" approach.  Teaching and learning are far too complex to be captured and reduced to a spreadsheet.  Nevertheless, these data, when taken together with all that we know about teaching the whole-child can be a powerful lever for improvement in high-performing systems.

NWEA Resources

NWEA is our universal screener used to track student growth and achievement in both reading and math. Students in grades 1 through 8 take this assessment three times each year.
