Seven Bridges Principal's Introduction

Seven Bridges Students

At Seven Bridges, we are committed to cultivating a vibrant and engaging community that inspires students to embrace a love for learning, develop their interests, and foster a sense of belonging. Assistant Principal Jessica Rappaport and I are dedicated to supporting all students and families throughout their middle school journey.

In our school, teaching and learning are grounded in current educational research, striking a balance between a rigorous academic environment and social-emotional learning. Our classrooms are dynamic, inquisitive, creative, and interactive. We strive to personalize learning, offering relevant interdisciplinary opportunities, and focusing on the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, communication skills, as well as the cultivation of empathy, kindness, self-direction, and resilience.

Alongside these principles, we recognize the importance of learning from mistakes both inside and outside the classroom. We encourage an environment where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for learning and personal development.

Central to our academic framework is a well-rounded, research-based literacy program that incorporates a blended approach of word study, phonics, grammar, and small group instruction. We actively seek to create numerous interdisciplinary opportunities, and our 8th-grade students engage in Algebra and Living Environment courses to open pathways for all while maintaining a rigorous curriculum. Many of our classes emphasize STEAM initiatives and the UN's sustainability goals, with our STEAM center, hydroponics classroom, and garden extending these objectives beyond traditional classrooms.

Ensuring academic success and providing appropriate challenges are paramount to us. For those in need of additional support, we offer enrichment opportunities through partnerships with the PTA, extra help, Academic Intervention Services, and ongoing collaboration with parents at home. Beyond academics, we support each child's development through advisory programs, utilizing a team structure that tailors experiences for 5th and 6th graders differently than for 7th and 8th graders. Our social emotional support system includes peer mentoring, counseling services and groups, clubs, and grounding in our RULER program, adopting a restorative approach.

On our Academics website, you will find more information about our middle school programs and be able to explore curricular programs and resources. You can also use the menu on the right to navigate to the other school levels or to learn about our K-12 curriculum across subject areas.

Thank you for being an integral part of the Seven Bridges community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. We are here to support your students.
