Bell Principal's Introduction

Bell Students

Dear Bell School Community,,

Robert E. Bell Middle School is committed to our 4Core values: Empathy, Respect, Perseverance, and Self-Regulation. These principles foster a supportive atmosphere that enables every student to thrive. We believe these values are essential for fostering a community where students feel a strong sense of belonging, which is crucial for academic success. Assistant Principal Christine Parrottino and I are dedicated to supporting our students and staff in achieving this goal.

At our school, our classrooms are dynamic and buzzing with activity, where students frequently take the lead, engaging deeply with their peers and teachers in a collaborative learning journey. Our dedicated staff and students are committed to achieving academic excellence, honing critical thinking, and mastering problem-solving skills. Our approach to learning is hands-on, with students actively moving and interacting within their learning environments, fostering collaboration and engagement.

The academic foundation at Bell Middle School is built on a carefully crafted curriculum across content areas. Our core academics, like English Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, are complemented by special areas and interdisciplinary work, often in our STEAM and hydroponics spaces.

This synergy reflects our commitment to the CCSD Strategic Plan's goals around alignment and rigor at the middle school level, emphasizing readiness and technological proficiency. From after-school extra help for all students to an Integrated Co-teaching (ICT) model in some of our classes, we have multiple avenues to support students.

Academic success at Bell is just one aspect of our students' growth. We support the development of each child through programs like Guidance Workshop for 5th graders and a school-wide RULER-based advisory program integrating social-emotional learning into our curriculum. Our socioemotional supports include our counseling department, school social worker, and school psychologist. Additionally, we offer a rich extracurricular program for students who want to explore our many clubs or the modified sports program for 7th and 8th-grade students.

On our Academics website, you will find more information about our middle school programs and you will  be able to explore curricular programs and resources. You can also use the menu on the right to navigate to the other school levels or to learn about our K-12 curriculum across subject areas.

Thank you for being a part of the Robert E. Bell school community. At Bell, we are excited about the day-to-day work of our middle school and all that it brings.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at any time. We are here to support your students.

Warm regards,

Geoff Curtis
