Westorchard Principal's Introduction

Westorchard Students

It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you all as we embark on an exciting journey of learning and growth together at Westorchard Elementary School. Our school is dedicated to fostering an environment where each student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

At Westorchard, teaching and learning go beyond the confines of traditional classrooms. We believe in student-centered education, where students are actively engaged in their learning process, encouraged to voice their opinions, and given the freedom to make choices that shape their educational experiences. Our classrooms are vibrant spaces where diversity is celebrated, and a sense of belonging is cultivated among all members of our community.

Central to our mission are our core values of inclusion, respect, and honoring identity. We strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are. Our academic goals revolve around providing students with the necessary tools and support to access all content across subject areas, catering to their individual learning styles and needs.

As we look to the future, we are committed to implementing innovative academic programs and initiatives that enhance student learning and engagement. Our strategic plan prioritizes initiatives aimed at improving students’ sense of belonging, rethinking traditional curriculum to better meet the needs of our diverse student body, and providing a variety of instructional approaches to support all learners.

We understand that academic success is just one aspect of a child's development. That's why we place a strong emphasis on supporting the whole child, including their social-emotional well-being. Through social-emotional learning initiatives and ongoing support services, we ensure that all students feel a sense of belonging and are equipped with the skills to navigate life's challenges with resilience and empathy.

On our Academics website, you will find more information about our elementary school programs and be able to explore curricular programs and resources. You can also use the menu on the right to navigate to the other school levels or to learn about our K-12 curriculum across subject areas. We are here to partner with you in your child's educational journey, so please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

In closing, I want to express my hopes for each and every one of our students: that they may discover their passions, realize their potential, and become compassionate and engaged members of our community. Together, let us inspire a love for learning and create a brighter future for all.

Warm regards,
Alissa Stoever
