7010 - Integrated Pest Management

Structural and landscape pests can pose significant problems to people, property, and the environment. Pesticides can also pose significant risks to people, property, and the environment. It is, therefore, the policy of the Chappaqua Central School District to incorporate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures for control of structural and landscape pests consistent with the goal of minimizing toxic chemicals in and around our school buildings and grounds. In keeping with this policy, the School District will develop an IPM plan with accompanying procedures.

Pests are (a) any insect, rodent, fungus, weed or (b) any other terrestrial or aquatic plant or animal life or virus, bacteria, or other microorganism which interferes with the purposes of the site.

Integrated Pest Management:

The coordinated use of pest and environmental information with available pest control methods to prevent unacceptable levels of pest damage with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment.
