Staff Members:
   Christine Ackerman, Superintendent of Schools

1.       Call the meeting to order at 7:30 am.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to open the meeting at 7:34 am.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 5-0.

2.       BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby appoints Dr. Christine Ackerman as District Clerk Pro Tempore.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to appoint Dr. Christine Ackerman as District Clerk Pro Tempore.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 5-0.

3.       Proposed Executive Session, to discuss the employment history of particular persons, litigation and matters of health and safety, subject to Board approval.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to adjourn into Executive Session at 7:35 am to discuss the employment history of particular persons, litigation and matters of health and safety.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 5-0.

Hilary Grasso left the meeting at 9:16 am.

4.       Reconvene Special Board Meeting.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to reconvene the public meeting at 9:17 am.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 4-0.

5.      Personnel

5.1       Non-Instructional

Appointment:
Rebecca Sotherden, Registered Nurse at Horace Greeley High School, at an annual salary of $65,109, Step 4 of the Nurse’s Contract, effective August 1, 2022.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to approve Item 5.1 as stated above.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 4-0.

6.      Recommended Action:  Other

6.1     BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the law firm of Shaw, Perelson, May & Lambert, LLP to appeal from the July 5, 2022 Decision and Order of the Court in LCVAWCP-DOE v. James Collins, et al., Index No. 67488/2021, pursuant to the terms of the retainer agreement between the law firm and the District.

6.2     BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby approves an agreement with KG&D Architects, PC, for Investigation, Document Preparation and Construction Oversight regarding the Horace Greeley High School F-J Bridge and authorizes the Board President to sign the agreement.

Motioned by Warren Messner to approve Items 6.1 and 6.2 as stated above.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 4-0.
