1.    Call the meeting to order at 10:00 am.

President Shepardson called for a motion to open the meeting.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to open the meeting at 10:07 am.  Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 5-0.

2.    Personnel:

Dr. Ackerman recommended Item. 2.1 as stated below.

2.1    Instructional

Resolution: 
BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby appoints Lisa Berlenbach Dixon from the Preferred Eligible List to the position of Teaching Assistant, Douglas Grafflin Elementary School, effective August 31, 2022, with a probationary period ending January 31, 2026.

Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby appoints the individuals listed as per diem substitutes at the Building Specific substitute teacher rate:

Robin Banks-Hnatkowycz – Horace Greeley High School
Jason Einaugler – Robert E. Bell Middle School
Anna Falcone – Westorchard Elementary School
Michael McGinnis – Horace Greeley High School

Resignations:
Ms. Jannel King, Teaching Assistant, Horace Greeley High School, effective September 5, 2022.

Ms. Michelle McGee, Teacher of Elementary Education, Roaring Brook Elementary School, effective September 8, 2022.

Amended Resignation:
Ms. Megan Wilson, Teacher of Reading, Roaring Brook Elementary School, effective September 8, 2022.

Appointments: Probationary
Ms. Michelle McGee, Teacher of Reading, Roaring Brook Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Reading, effective September 9, 2022 through September 8, 2025, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period they shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 20, D(BA+90) with Masters, $149,926, prorated.

Ms. Meghan Brady, Teacher of Elementary, Roaring Brook Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Elementary Education, effective September 9, 2022 through September 8, 2025, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period they shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 10, B(BA+30) with Masters, $98,547, prorated.

Appointment: Part Time
Ms. Jennifer Herlihy, (.5) Teacher of Speech & Language, Horace Greeley High School, effective September 9, 2022 through June 30, 2023 (or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education), Step 12, B(BA+45) with Masters, $54,794, prorated.

Appointment: Long-term Substitute
Ms. Karin Pelletier, Teacher of Special Education, Roaring Brook Elementary School, effective September 6, 2022 through October 31, 2022 (or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education), $450 per diem.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to approve Item 2.1 as stated above.  Seconded by Ryan Kelsey.  Motion carried 5-0.

3.    Proposed Executive Session to discuss matters leading to the appointment of particular individuals, the employment history of particular persons and litigation subject to Board approval.  

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to adjourn into Executive Session at 10:08 am to discuss matters leading to the appointment of particular individuals, the employment history of particular persons and litigation.
Seconded by Cailee Hwang.  Motion carried 5-0.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to reconvene the public meeting at 12:03 pm.  Seconded by Ryan Kelsey.  Motion carried 5-0.
