President Jane Kimmel Shepardson motioned to convene the public meeting at 4:01 pm.

Seconded by Warren Messner. Motion carried 3-0. Board Vice President Holly McCall and Board Member Victoria Tipp were absent.

Motioned by Jane Kimmel Shepardson to adjourn into Executive Session to discuss the employment history of a particular persons and litigation at 4:01 pm. Seconded by Warren Messner. Motion carried 3-0. Board Vice President Holly McCall and Board Member Victoria Tipp were absent.

President Kimmel Shepardson called for a motion to re-convene the public meeting at 4:47 pm.

Motioned by Warren Messner to re-convene the public meeting at 4:47 pm. Seconded by Hilary Grasso. Motion carried 3-0. Board Vice President Holly McCall and Board Member Victoria Tipp were absent.

Dr. Ackerman recommended Item 1.1 as amended below:

1.1 Instructional

Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby increases a 0.6 (FTE) Social Studies position to 0.8 (FTE). This action results in the increase of a 0.2 (FTE) Social Studies position at Horace Greeley High School effective, August 29, 2019.

Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby creates a 1.0 (FTE) Physical Education position. This action results in the creation of a 1.0 (FTE) Physical Education position at Horace Greeley High School effective August 29, 2019.

BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby appoints the individual listed as Director of Science Research effective for the 2019/2020 school year:

Resignation:
Ms. MaryRose Joseph, Science Department Chairperson, Horace Greeley High School, effective August 15, 2019.

Ms. Annette Hawkins, Modified Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach, Seven Bridges Middle School, effective August 20, 2019.

Ms. Elizabeth Lops, Modified Volleyball Assistant Coach, Seven Bridges Middle School, effective August 20, 2019.

Appointment: Long-term Substitute
Ms. Elizabeth DeLessio-Neubauer, School Psychologist, Horace Greeley High School, Robert E. Bell and Seven Bridges Middle Schools, effective August 22, 2019 through December 20, 2019 (or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education), $500 per diem.

Appointment: Probationary
Mr. Tyler Esposito, Teacher of Science, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Science effective August 29, 2019 through August 28, 2023, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 3, B(BA+30) with Masters, $77,482.

Ms. Tabitha Sasso, Teacher of STEAM Support, Robert E. Bell and Seven Bridges Middle Schools, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Elementary effective August 29, 2019 through August 28, 2023, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 8, B(BA+30) with Masters, $92,971.

Ms. Lauren Nero, Teacher of English, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of English effective August 29, 2019 through August 28, 2023, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time, Step 4, C(BA+60) with Masters, $88,433.

Mr. Drew Stierhoff, (.8) Teacher of Social Studies, at Horace Greeley High, effective August 29, 2019 through June 30, 2020 (or earlier at the discretion of the Board of Education), Step 2, A(BA), $55.506.

Resignation:
Elizabeth Lyden, Clerk-School Monitor at Robert E. Bell Middle School, effective August 19, 2019.

Resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that Theresa Markley is hereby appointed to serve in the office of Acting District Clerk at the hourly rate of $75, effective August 23, 2019 until the return of District Clerk Liisa Elsner on or about October 4, 2019.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education hereby amends the appointment of Linda Oprysko, Teacher Aide at Roaring Brook Elementary School, from 24 hours/week to 22.5 hours/week at Westorchard Elementary School, effective September 3, 2019.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education hereby amends the appointment of Colleen Wilson, Teacher Aide at Roaring Brook Elementary School, from 31.25 hours/week to 32.50 hours/week, effective September 3, 2019.

BET IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education, hereby appoints the individual listed below as per diem clerical/aide substitute to be employed on an “as needed” basis, effective September 3, 2019, at a salary of $15 per hour:

2. Recommended Action: Other

2.1 BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Board President and Superintendent of Schools to execute the 2018-19 APPR Implementation Certification Form for its Annual Professional Performance Review for classroom teachers and building principals covered pursuant to Education Law Section 3012-d and Subpart 30-3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents.

Motioned by Hilary Grasso to approve Item 2.1 as stated above. Seconded by Warren Messner. Motion carried 3-0. Board Vice President Holly McCall and Board Member Victoria Tipp were absent.

3. Facilities
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education acknowledges Change Orders approved by the Superintendent per Board Resolution adopted at June 14, 2017 Board of Education meeting

3.1 Change order BE=GC-001 approved by the Superintendent:
Project: DW Security – Robert E. Bell Middle School
Contractor: Casabella Contracting of NY, Inc.
Description: Labor, equipment and materials related to removal of discovered underground oil tank.
Amount: $2,392.50
