BE IT RESOLVED that, the Board of Education hereby appoints the individual listed as High School Department Facilitator for the 2018/2019 school year:

Daniel Valentin – English Department

Alison Mitchell, Part Time Teacher, Robert E. Bell Middle School, effective June 30, 2018.

Alissa Stoever, Elementary Teacher, Westorchard Elementary School, effective June 30, 2018.

Appointment: Probationary
Mr. Conor Lander, Guidance Counselor,  Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Guidance Counselor effective August 30, 2018 through August 30, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.

Ms. Alison Mitchell, English Teacher, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of English Teacher effective August 30, 2018 through August 30, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.

Jennifer Thompson, Staff Developer, District-Wide, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Elementary Education effective August 30, 2018 through August 30, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.

Michael Diamente, Teacher of Social Studies, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Social Studies Teacher effective August 30, 2018 through August 30, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.

Colleen O’Connor, Assistant Principal, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of High School Assistant Principal effective July 1, 2018 through July 1, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.  The salary will be $165,000 per year.

Carol Bartlik, Principal, Douglas Grafflin Elementary School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of Elementary Principal effective July 1, 2018 through July 1, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.   The salary will be $185,000 per year.

Andrew Corsilia, Principal, Horace Greeley High School, to a probationary appointment in the tenure area of High School Principal effective August 1, 2018 through August 1, 2022, subject to receipt of composite or overall annual professional performance review ratings pursuant to Education law Section 3012-c and/or 3012-d of either effective or highly effective in at least three (3) of the four (4) proceeding years, and if the probationer receives an ineffective composite or overall rating in the final year of the probationary period he or she shall not be eligible for tenure at that time.   The salary will be $220,000 per year.

Moved by Victoria Tipp to approve Item 2.1 as amended. Seconded by Alyson Gardner. Motion carried 5-0.

Dr. Ackerman recommended Item 2.2 Non-Instructional.

 

 

Resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board hereby terminates the employment of Helen Avitabile, a cleaner, effective close of business June 27, 2018.

Moved by Victoria Tipp to approve Item 2.2 as amended.  Seconded by Alyson Gardner.  Motion carried 5.0

3.1

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approve a Letter of Agreement with Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates dated June 21, 2018 in the amount of $15,000, and authorizes the Board President to execute this Agreement.

Moved by Alyson Gardner to approve Item 3.1 as stated above.  Seconded by Jane Kimmel Shepardson.  Motion carried 5-0.
 

3.2

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education hereby ratifies the provisions of a Memorandum of Agreement entered into by the negotiating teams for the Chappaqua Congress of Teachers (Teaching Assistants’ Unit) (“CCT”) and the District, dated June 21, 2018, that sets forth the terms of a three-year successor Collectively Negotiated Agreement to the one that will expire on June 30, 2018, and authorizes the expenditure of those moneys necessary to fund the provisions of the July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021 Agreement between the District and CCT.

Moved by Alyson Gardner to approve Item 3.2 as stated above.  Seconded by Victoria Tipp.  Motion carried 5-0.
 
4.     RESOLVED that the Board convene into Executive Session to discussion the employment history of  particular individuals and contract negotiations.
